50 years ago today, my parents were married. No, don't imagine all the Antara Dua Darjat or even Seniman Bujang Lapok scenes. My parents' marriage were the norm then. They didn't meet, someone arranged it all for them. But they had 8 kids together, so there must be something there, I dunno.
But truth be told, my parents is the true embodiment of love. No, not the lovey-dovey Hollywood movies staple. My parents, though my mom nags and my dad does his own thing, is in love in their own way. They tolerate each other. They stick around for each other. They argue with each other. They pray together.
Love, is not about the smooth sailing. Love is about the ups and downs. It's about the times when you absolutely cannot stand your significant other, yet you hang on. You don't give up. You be there, no matter what.
Love you Mak and Ayah. Happy 50th Anniversary. May you stay with us for many more, insyaAllah.
xoxo,
Miss Fallin'
